Expect wait times when you head to the polls at Tuesday’s election in Platte County. Polls opened at 6 a.m. and about a half hour later here was the scene, as a long line of voters waited to cast their ballots at the Platte County Community Center North in Platte City. The polling site at Seven Bridges south of Platte City was reporting extremely long lines as well. Officials with the Platte County Board of Elections have said they expect voter turnout of 82% for this election, which of course features the presidential race between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, the battle for Missouri governor between Mike Parson and Nicole Galloway, local state representative contests and a second district county commissioner race between David Park and Joe Vanover.
