The Platte County Democratic Central Committee and the Platte County Democratic Women invite Lindsey Baker from Missouri Budget Project to Green Hills Library on April 29 at 6:30 p.m.

They will educate the community on how the newly passed Missouri bill to eliminate income tax will impact Missourians.

There will also be a representative from Park Hill National Education Association (PHNEA) to discuss the effects on our school funding.

According to Missouri House Democrats, it has been reported that 80% of Missourians will pay increased sales taxes that the Missouri legislators can raise on any goods and services to offset the loss from income taxes.

“The Everything Tax Hike” while benefitting the top 20% and leaving everyone else with a higher overall tax burden,” say the Missouri House Democrats.

Missouri voters will have the final say in this tax bill at the polls later this year.

“We want to help educate our community on the impact to help them make an informed decision,” said event organizers in a press release.
