Surgery Center of the Northland will be a state-of-the art ambulatory surgery center featuring four operating rooms outfitted with the latest surgical technology. It will be located at 1101 Kentucky Avenue on ground investors recently purchased from the Platte County R-3 School District.

The center will specialize in orthopedic, spine, and podiatry procedures, including total joint replacements, according to the investing partners. It will offer patients “a high quality, cost-effective alternative to hospital-based surgical care,” partners say.

The project reflects a broader trend in health care delivery, shifting appropriate surgical procedures to outpatient settings to reduce costs, enhance personalized experiences and improve convenience for patients.

“Surgery Center of the Northland represents a long-term investment in the health of the Platte City and surrounding communities by expanding access to specialized same-day surgical care closer to home,” said Rachel Morris, media contact for NueHealth.

Speakers at the groundbreaking included many of the investing partners and contractors, as well as Platte City Mayor Steve Hoeger.

Also in attendance were Platte City aldermen Dan Laxson, Scott Poague, and Jesse Bennett, as well as City Administrator DJ Gehrt and Joe Wellington, assistant city administrator.

Also on hand were Platte County R-3 Superintendent Dr. Jay Harris and assistant superintendent Dr. Drew White.
