Work on the Ace Hardware Support Center, the massive building on the east side of Interstate 29 south of Platte City and north of the Mexico City Ave. exit, is advancing. A team from the Platte County Economic Development Council recently got a sneak peek of the facility and posted photos on the council’s Facebook page. The Ace Hardware warehouse is inside the KCI 29 Logistics Park being constructed by Hunt Midwest. The huge building is nearly half a mile long and contains 1.5 million square feet. It’s reported to be almost twice the size of other Ace retail support centers. “Once operational, this facility will help Ace balance its current distribution network and meet the needs of its growing retail footprint,” the PCEDC said on its Facebook page. The facility not only has Ace signage on the side of the building but it also has giant Ace Hardware signage on the roof, visible to air travelers flying in or out of KCI Airport.
