Her last day on the job in Platte City will be March 6. She has served in the post a little more than two years.

“The decision to leave the chamber was not an easy one, it’s definitely bittersweet. I absolutely love this job,” Friddell said. “There was an opportunity to re-energize another non-profit and I felt it was a good fit for my family.”

She added that she is “so proud of the relationships I’ve built in my two years here at the chamber. I love that our community is so engaged and committed to the growth of our Platte City area.”

There are currently more than 200 members in the Platte City Chamber of Commerce.

“While we continue to grow steadily, we are committed to working on the retention of our members. Our downtown is blooming, and it’s no secret that our business community is bracing for exponential growth. I truly believe our chamber will benefit from that and be an integral source of community development,” said Friddell.

Marji Gehr, city administrator for the City of Platte City, sent Friddell praise for her leadership and commitment to the Platte City business community.

“During her tenure as executive director of the Platte City Area Chamber of Commerce, Tricia emerged as an invaluable asset to our community. Her leadership in the business community, marked by kindness and a servant’s heart, has effectively connected businesses and individuals, fostering collaboration and propelling growth opportunities within our community,” said Gehr.

Friddell, formerly a morning radio show host in Virginia Beach, grew up in Lathrop and earned a bachelor’s degree in radio/television communications at the University of Missouri. In her previous role as a morning radio host, Friddell hosted concerts, performed live broadcasts on location, interviewed celebrities, and hosted a television show.

Before leading the chamber, she worked as a director of marketing and client experience at The Opus Group, where she worked with her husband, Jim Friddell.
Friddell says she plans to begin her role of executive director for Platte Senior Services, Inc. in mid-March.
