If you’ve read some of the week-by-week comments, you’ll notice that local musician and Landmark Live personality Brad Carl has been struggling with his Pick’em luck. Brad’s aggregate correct pick ratio is excellent and is second only to RobertHShaw. Despite this, Brad has had to sit by and watch other Landmark personalities have success in Pick’em by making the right picks at the right time.
Poor Brad, he became the classic middle child of The Landmark staff, craving some validation, love, luck, anything in Pick’em. He has become the ultimate Brady Bunch middle-child.
Brad is a talented musician who has a hit music video dedicated to the Parkville mayor’s favorite hangout and prior to today, our advice to him would have been along the lines of the Brady Bunch song “Keep On.” Speaking of the Bradys, rumor has it if you listen closely enough while reviewing the weekly results you can almost hear Brad mumbling “Ivan, Ivan Ivan…” (“Marsha, Marsha Marsha” is the memorable quote uttered by the character Jan Brady. In years since the phrase originated, it has become an expression of jealousy toward another’s success.)
All that being said – the Pick’em team is happy to see that by picking Washington over Seattle in Monday’s game, Brad finally found himself in the first-place seat. No more “Marsha, Marsha Marsha” moments for Brad.
The winners for Week 12 in order are:
- Jan Brady (aka BradJCarl) with 11 picks correct and 20 tie-breaking points
- Kitkat with 10 picks correct and 20 tie-breaking points
- John with 10 picks correct and 18 tie-breaking points
