A Texas-based restaurant chain has plans to open in the Northland.
Twin Peaks desires to open in the former Houlihan’s space at 8660 N. Boardwalk Avenue, Kansas City in Platte County, not far from the Walmart and Lowe’s on Boardwalk.
Officials with the Shops at Boardwalk recently confirmed to the Kansas City Star that Twin Peaks will be a tenant. But the local franchisee indicated to the Star that the deal wasn’t yet finalized, saying they are still “working through the lease and licensing.”
According to its website, Twin Peaks is known for 29-degree beer on tap, has a mountain lodge theme, and “friendly and attractive Twin Peaks Girls surrounded by scenic views and the latest in high-definition TVs.”
The Twin Peaks menu includes made-from-scratch items such as chicken wings, soups and salads, sandwiches, tacos, smoke chicken, chargrilled salmon, chicken fried steak or chicken, steak and pot roast.
Existing area locations for Twin Peaks include Independence and Olathe.
Founded in 2005 in a Dallas suburb, Twin Peaks now has 83 locations in 25 states.
Houlihan’s opened in the Shops at Boardwalk in 2005. It closed its doors in August of 2018.
