CDC data has Platte ranked fifth in state
In the top five in the state.
According to CDC’s data, Platte County is fifth among Missouri counties in the percentage of total residents vaccinated against COVID-19.
Dan Luebbert, deputy director of the Platte County Health Department, said the CDC data has Platte as fifth among Missouri counties in the categories of percentage of vaccinated residents age 12 and over, age 18 and over, and total residents vaccinated.
“However, according to the CDC data, we’re 16th in the percentage of age 65 and over who have been vaccinated,” Luebbert told The Landmark last week.
Numbers available as of Tuesday, June 15, showed that an estimated 45.8% of folks over age 16 in Platte County–including the Kansas City portions of Platte County–have completed COVID-19 vaccination.
Also, 52.5% of Platte County’s population–including Kansas City in Platte County–have initiated vaccination.
Those percentages are from what is known as the WebIZ database and also estimates based on reporting in KCMO’s dashboard, Luebbert said.
A good way to summarize that data is to say that roughly 46% of Platte Countians age 16 and above have completed vaccination and about 53% age 16 and above have initiated vaccination.
“Note that this still does not include federally-provided vaccines or any other vaccines that were not reported into ShowMeVax or WebIZ databases. Overall, these estimates are pretty close to CDC’s estimates for Platte County,” Luebbert said.
