EDITOR:
The Platte County Democratic Women strongly condemn the actions of the White House and Donald Trump for posting a racist video targeting the Obama family.
This is not a time for silence. Racism must be called out wherever it appears, especially when it comes from those in positions of power. The President of the United States should never use his platform to promote hateful or demeaning content about any citizen–and certainly not about a former President, Barack Obama and his family.
Donald Trump has stated that he “didn’t make a mistake” by posting this racist and vile video. He also has refused to apologize. Such behavior must not go unnoticed or unchallenged.
We call on leaders and citizens alike to stand up and say no to racism. Silence is not an option.
