APPOINTED BY GOV. KEHOE
George (Guy) Speckman of Smithville has been appointed to the Missouri Real Estate Appraisers Commission. Gov. Mike Kehoe announced the appointment last week.
Speckman is a long-time real estate appraiser for Pinnacle Valuation Services, Inc., after working as a publisher for Touchdown Publications. Since selling the Savannah Reporter newspaper several years ago, Speckman has served as a weekly contributing columnist on page 3 for the Platte County Landmark.
Speckman has played an active role in civic service across northwest Missouri, having served as city administrator for the cities of Savannah, Plattsburg, and Maysville. He also served as an alderman for the City of Savannah. Speckman earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Northwest Missouri State University.
The purpose of the commission is to protect the public by licensing qualified appraisers, enforcing professional standards, investigating misconduct, and ensuring competence through examinations and education. Commission members receive pay of $50 per quarterly meeting and expense reimbursement for their regulatory duties, funded by fees.
