Christmas On the River ready to roll Friday, Dec. 5

Historic Downtown Parkville will host the annual Christmas On the River festival Friday, Dec. 5, from 6-10 p.m.

The festival takes place on Main Street, in the parking lot south of First Street.

In addition to the outdoor happenings, most shops will offer extended hours and open houses, and restaurants will serve up festive cuisine and drinks.

The free event will offer activities for all ages, including:

·Live holiday entertainment on the main stage starting at 6 p.m.
· Outdoor Christmas Market
·Visit Santa & have photos in his house
·A mama reindeer and her little ones
·Reindeer food-making and letters to Santa at The Farmacy on Main, 111 Main Street
·Seasonal refreshments
·Costumed characters including the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who
·Live music and photo ops in Pocket Park
·Family activities
·Holiday fireworks show at 9 p.m. (on the Missouri River).
