Platte County High School Homecoming king and queen candidates are Stephanie Pender, Dana Matt, Carrie Knight, Tracey Rogge, Lisa Wade, Heidi Plaisted, Amanda Eggen and Katie O’Brien, Scott Martin, Matt Morrill, Josh Hulett, Travis Bahr, Ben Zeyer, Adam Kelly, Tim Cummings and Greg Atkins. The queen will be crowned at Saturday’s homecoming football game between the Pirates and the Cameron Dragons. The king is crowned at Wednesday night’s Powder Puff game.

It’s not yet known who will be the next Platte County R-3 superintendent, but it is known what process the district will use in looking for Don Siegrist’s replacement. Siegrist has announced he will retire effective at the end of June. The board of education has hired a consultant to assist in the search for his replacement. Gale Bartow, senior search consultant, and Robert Gill, associate, of Bartow and Associates, already have a search for candidates up and running. Their firm has a contract to do consulting work with the Missouri School Boards Association, of which R-3 is a member. Their fee will be 4.5 percent of the first year’s salary paid to the new superintendent.
