AT PRICE CHOPPER IN PLATTE CITY
Platte County R-3 is kicking off the 20th year of its character education program known as Pirates ROCK.
There will be a kickoff/community tailgate event on Friday, Sept. 5.
Pirates ROCK (Raising Outstanding Character Kids) is a program designed to surround Platte County School District families with examples of strong character traits through school experiences, at home, and reinforced in the community.
Each month the school community focuses on a specific character trait and students are recognized for exhibiting these traits.
On Friday, Sept. 5, PCR-3 kicks off its 20th year of the character education program.
To celebrate, wear your orange and black on Friday, join the community from 5-6:30 p.m. at Price Chopper in Platte City for a community tailgate, and enjoy free popcorn at the first home football game.
From 5-6 p.m. at the tailgate, the PCHS drumline, dance team, cheerleaders, and Pirates Cheerleading Club youth cheerleaders will perform.
Attendees can also get their photo taken with PC the Parrot Mascot and your face painted by PCHS Art Club Members. Free hot dogs, chips, and water courtesy of Price Chopper; free popcorn for tailgate attendees courtesy of Nodaway Valley Bank; free temporary tattoos courtesy of Central Bank; and Mama Doe’s Ice Cream and PTA spirit wear available for purchase, before heading to Pirate Stadium to watch the Platte County Pirates take on the Grain Valley Eagles.
