Team Cocktail is a laid back and travel-inspired brand of apparel and accessories.

Its Zona Rosa location will be the second area storefront for Team Cocktail. The business is taking over the space formerly occupied by Zumiez, next to Toy Time and across from the pickleball courts of 54th Street bar and grill.

Team Cocktail’s location consists of 2,259 sq. ft.

The Kansas City Business Journal recently reported Team Cocktail was founded by a group of friends in 2009.

“Team Cocktail was created to bring one simple idea to as many peole as possible. Life is best enjoyed in your favorite t-shirt with a drink in hand. By merging high quality apparel with drinking-inspired graphics and slogans, the brand was born,” the company says on its LinkedIn page.

There is another Team Cocktail retail location in Lee’s Summit.

It features a variety of colorful and playful apparel, with printed phrases such as, “Body by Beer” and “Drinks Well With Others.” It also features tropical-themed Kansas City gear, with nods to the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. Team Cocktail hosts a range of events, including tailgate parties, sip-and-shops and an annual Caribbean cruise.

“Our goal has always been to create clothing that makes people feel like they’re on vacation, no matter where they are,” co-owner Lyndsey Fliehs said in a press release. “Zona Rosa is the perfect next step for us in the Kansas City area. It’s a lively, community-focused destination that aligns with the fun, relaxed vibe we bring to everything we do.”

In the release, Zona Rosa general manager Scott Zigler said the shopping center likes providing a place for community-driven brands like Team Cocktail to grow.

“We’re excited to welcome a locally rooted small business like Team Cocktail, one that embodies fun and offers unique apparel for both locals and visitors to Zona Rosa,” he said in the release.

OTHER ZONA ROSA
ADDITIONS

Plate Pizzeria, a local eatery, is scheduled to open later in the summer at Zona Rosa. It will offer dine-in, carryout and delivery service within an eight mile radius. The restaurant specializes in Neapolitan style pizza.

Fifth & Emery is a dessert-focused brand offering frozen yogurt and toppings, caramel apples, handmade chocolates, and items dipped in chocolate, such as strawberries and cookies. It is a Kansas City company founded by Isaac Collins, formerly of Yogurtini. Zona Rosa is considered its flagship location.
