Main Street Celebration June 13-14 in Downtown Platte City

For the second consecutive year, a Main Street Celebration is in the works in Downtown Platte City.

Input sought for Downtown Platte City

The celebration is set for Friday and Saturday, June 13 and 14 on Main Street.

It begins on the evening of June 13 with a street dance sponsored by Barley & Vine from 6-9 p.m. In addition to the live music by Miguel, there will be food trucks, a bounce house and a free dance class by Fred Astaire Dance Studio KC. Food truck offerings will include Sizzle & Sweets, Sunglo, and Off the Hook BBQ.

The activity continues on Saturday morning, June 14 and will wrap up in the early afternoon. Saturday events will include free pancakes hosted by Chris Cakes (limited availability, first come, first-served) from 9-11 a.m.

Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will feature a craft vendor fair, free face painting and henna (temporary) tattoos, bounce houses for the kids, and a car show.
Food and drink offerings for Saturday, June 14 will include Off the Hook BBQ, Kona Ice, Traveling Tom’s Coffee, and Tucker Time Coffee.
