Police say investigation reveals that a white Mercedes was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound. The vehicle went off the road on the left side of the highway, then the driver over-corrected and crossed both lanes of traffic, crashing on the right side of highway. The vehicle tumbled away to its resting place in the tree line, according to police.

A passenger in the vehicle was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The driver was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Cpt. Jake Becchina with KCPD says the driver is under investigation for DUI.
