CONSTRUCTION EXPECTED TO TAKE NINE MONTHS
Nodaway Valley Bank has broken ground for construction of a new, permanent full-service bank facility on the southeast corner of N. 169 Highway and Commercial Street in Smithville.
Designed by the Gastinger & Walker architectural firm of Kansas City, the new 4,000 square foot building will have a modern flair with a distinctive tower and extensive glass and contrasting tiles. A covered ATM will be available in the four-lane drive-up.
Construction is expected to take nine months.
Nodaway Valley Bank was founded in Maryville, Mo. in 1868 and is the oldest and largest independently owned and operated bank in northwest Missouri.
The bank expanded into Savannah, (Andrew) Missouri in 1990, and entered the St. Joseph market in 1995 followed by Mound City (Holt) in 2007.
NVB entered the Kansas City Northland in November 2020 with a full-service bank in Platte City, followed by Smithville in December 2020. NVB also operates a loan production office near Liberty.
The bank’s resources have increased five-fold since coming to St. Joseph in 1995.
During the past four years, the bank has operated out of a temporary modular building at N. 169 Highway and Martin Road at Smithville.
“We are gratified by the number of new banking relationships we’ve been able to cultivate in the KC Northland,” commented James G. Robinson, chairman and CEO. “Besides its convenience, we hope this building will affirm our long-term commitment to Smithville and the entire Northland market.”
