City seeking applicants for ward 4 alderman seat

BERBERICH LEAVING ALDERMAN SPOT ON DEC. 17

The City of Parkville is seeking applications from residents of ward four interested in serving as alderman to fill an upcoming vacancy following the resignation by Alderman Allyson Berberich effective Dec. 17.

Berberich was recently elected first district county commissioner, to be effective Jan. 1.

Mayor Dean Katerndahl will nominate and appoint, with board of aldermen approval, a replacement to serve until the next municipal election on April 8.

Qualifications for the Ward 4 board of aldermen vacancy are as follows:

·Resident of ward 4
·18 years of age
·United States citizen
·Resident of the city for one year
·Registered voter
·Current on any city taxes or user fees

Interested residents should submit a resume to the City Clerk: Melissa McChesney, 8880 Clark Avenue, Parkville, Missouri 64152 (mmchesney@parkvillemo.gov) by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6. Following an interview with each applicant, the mayor will make a recommendation to the board of aldermen at a special evening meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

The new alderman will be sworn in and take office for the regular meeting that evening.
