Mrs. Shelly Lindahl, a teacher from Platte City, has been named a Young Career Woman (YCW) by the Platte City Business and Professional Women’s Club. Mrs. Lindahl, who is employed by the Platte County R-3 School District, will represent the Platte City BPW Club in a district YCW competition annual convention Sept. 20 in Excelsior Springs.
Harry W. and Jonnie E. Weigman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 15, 1979 at the home of Kent and Helen Weigman.
The Black Bull Liquor Store moved into its new building last weekend. They are now located on the north side of Hwy. 92 at Second Street in Platte City.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Brightwell of Dearborn hosted a reunion of the Class of 1948 and 1949 from the Platte City High School on Saturday evening, Sept. 15 at their country home. A barbecued pig and a large variety of covered dishes were served.
The Sidewalk Sale is Coming! Next weekend the annual Fall Sidewalk Sale sponsored by the Platte City Chamber of Commerce will be held on Friday and Saturday.
