Construction began in August and was completed Friday, Sept. 23 to allow a single permanent entrance to be used by the disabled and employees on the front east side allowing entry into the lobby area where Platte County Courthouse security has been established at the request of Presiding Circuit Court Judge Ward B. Stuckey.
The North Platte School Board approved a trip to the Black Hills Music Festival in Rapid City, South Dakota for the high school band at a meeting last Wednesday night. The R-1 board stated that it preferred the band does community service projects such as car washes, work auctions or selling a cookbook, but not door-to-door sales to raise funds for the trip.
The Missouri Conversation Commission approved building a shooting range at Parma Park, according to Platte County Commissioner Scott Spangler who attended the conservation commission’s meeting in St. Louis on Friday. Spangler reported Tuesday that the site west of I-435 at FF Highway received unanimous approval from the conservation commissioners with one condition: the facility, which will be pistol/rifle baffled range, will not include any shotgun activities. This is because shotgun range cannot be baffled.
