ONE PERSON SUFFERS MINOR INJURIES

One person suffered minor injuries when a vehicle crashed into a front door of the Parkville License Office at 6400 N. Cosby Ave., Kansas City in Platte County.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26. Firefighters and other first responders had arrived at the scene when this photo was snapped by a passerby.

Sgt. Phil DiMartino with the Kansas City Police Department Media Unit told The Landmark that an SUV went through the front door of the license office, damaging the door and door frame.

“How that occurred, I do not know,” DiMartino said. A full incident report is generally not available for about 15-20 days, DiMartino remarked, so as of now he has no further details about the incident.

Police said one person inside the building sustained minor injuries. The driver of the SUV was apparently not injured.

The front entry to the license office was taped off Wednesday afternoon following the incident.
