AFTER AROUND 20 YEARS AT THAT SPOT

No more Hooters on Barry Road.

The Hooters at 6411 NW Barry Road, Kansas City in Platte County, has permanently closed, according to its website.

Hooters is a casual dining restaurant chain known for chicken wings, its sports bar atmosphere and its servers known as Hooters Girls–typically young women wearing orange shorts and white tank tops.

Hooters has closed around 40 locations nationwide in recent months, and one of those closings is the Barry Road spot. The Barry Road location had been in operation roughly 20 years.

Hooters officially announced it’s closing a number of locations nationwide. “Like many restaurants under pressure from current market conditions, Hooters has made the difficult decision to close a select number of underperforming stores. Ensuring the well-being of our staff is our priority in these rare instances,” the company told Nation’s Restaurant News, a trade publication.

One Hooters remains in operation in the Kansas City area at Legends, 1712 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kan.
