A wedding reception honoring the marriage of Lawrence Anderson and Deana Seckel will be held Saturday, June 2, 1979 at 10:30 a.m. at t the home of Mr. and Mrs. Billy G. Anderson.


Mr. and Ms. Alan D. Marshall are the parents of a son, Daniel Christopher, born May 12 at Des Moines, Iowa. The grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Marshall of Savannah, Mo. and Mr. and Mrs. T. Clifford Morgan of Kansas City.

Mrs. Joyce Guthland was one of 376 students who took part in commencement exercises at Texas A & I University, Kingsville, Texas, on May 17. She received her bachelor of fine arts degree. Mrs. Guthland will be remembered as Joyce McFarland, who made her home with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Jantzen of rural Platte City. She was a 1971 graduate of West Platte High School and attended Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville.


Vacation Bible School will begin May 31 and run through June 8. Nursery through second grade will meet at the Christian Church and the third grade and up will meet at the Baptist Church. Te program will be June 10 at the Baptist Church.


Mr. and Mrs. Reid Lair of Smithville celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
