Old man takes, and voter turnout

If we are purposefully electing presidents in a downward trend for rational and cognitive thinking, I think we nailed it. Probably move on to some other criteria. Six years is a large enough sample size to say that we have mastered this process.

Next time you’re talking about a “threat to democracy,” let me point out that the City of Kansas City just ushered in their next leadership group with a whopping 13% of registered voters taking the time to participate in the primary citizen responsibility of a representative democracy.

That is just an embarrassing failure of a citizen base. 24,842 out of 213,976 registered voters made their way to the polls. Also, for you, “we must have mail in vote” crowd, Kansas City had a whopping 1,404 voters by mail. Lol. You think vote harvesting didn’t happen in urban areas in 2020 presidential election? In this local election, less than 1% availed themselves of the mail-in option, but they want us to believe 43% of the voters took the time to mail in a presidential ballot for 2020.

Before you send me an election denier email, save your keyboard the punishment. Joe Biden won the 2020 election because the Democrats mobilized the legal harvesting of votes in a significantly superior fashion to the Republicans. It’s really that simple, despite Donald Trump’s inability to simply state that.

I’m pulling for Clay County to get the Royals’ new stadium. The only drawback I see is that it seems unfair to Clay Countians to have to deal with that much Johnson County on a regular basis, but such is progress.

For those of you that say keep Truman Sports Complex and build an entertainment complex there, I don’t think you have spent much time in the area. I’d be shocked if the Chiefs stay. The surrounding area has become a complete disaster. The Highway 40 area teetered on “ok” for a few years and has now fallen completely off the meter into the “not ok” area and there is simply no positive base to build from at that location any longer beyond being on Interstate 70. There are not enough households in that market to support an entertainment district and that will eventually lead to the Chiefs going somewhere else as well, in my opinion.

This age thing keeps coming up on me at rapid speed. In successive days last week, I had a heated debate with a friend about the efficacy of statin medications and the next day we were debating the optimal age to take Social Security. I’m not talking to that old guy anymore.

Seems like just yesterday we were debating Mary Ann or Ginger. Life comes at you fast!

This is my annual reminder that I am not a fan of fireworks. It is my least favorite time of the year as people throw money in a burning pit of fire for the next “boom.” Honestly, I’m in favor of doing stupid stuff in life. I’ve done a bunch of it and had some fun; I just don’t understand doing it over and over and over for an entire lifetime. Anyway, for all of you who think your neighbors are enjoying your “fireworks show,” they probably are not, yet they still love our country and Lee Greenwood.

That was such an old man take, I’m going to quit there.
