THE FIRST IN SUMMER SERIES

The Summer Concert Series on the lawn of the Platte County Courthouse in Downtown Platte City kicks off this Saturday evening.
Platte City Friends of the Arts sponsors the concert series. Concerts are held the second Saturday of each month during the months of June, July and August from 7-9 p.m.

Winner of The Landmark English Award

A critical injury in crash on Hwy. 152

Performing this Saturday will be the band Aera out of Kansas City, Kan., providing electric and acoustic covers of rock, pop, country, blues, etc. Also this Saturday’s event will include a singing contest for a North Platte, West Platte and Platte County R-3 student scholarship.

Friends of the Arts receives funding assistance for the Summer Concert Series from partners that include Platte County Parks and Recreation, Wells Bank, City of Platte City, and the Missouri Association of Community Arts Agencies.

Later concerts set for this summer on the courthouse lawn will include July 8 with the band One Night Stand featuring tunes from the 60s, 70s and 80s; and Aug. 12 with the band Retroactive, which bills itself as the Midwest’s top tribute music of the 80s.
