Construction continues to advance on the new City Hall/police station in Platte City, going up at 224-228 Marshall Road. Latest estimate for completion? “Based on what I know to date, substantial completion by mid-May with a move starting in early June is reasonable,” says DJ Gehrt, city administrator. Framing of the building and exterior weather proofing is complete. Exterior masonry work began last week and with the current weather forecast is expected to be completed by the end of this month. Rough-in of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC has been done and will be completed after drywall. Gehrt said an emergency power generator is on site and will be installed shortly. Interior stairs are in progress. Some of the remaining items to be completed include building sprinkler system, windows and doors, elevator, interior finish, as well as exterior items including final grading, parking lot and entry drive, exterior lights and landscaping. Cost per the current contract with Royal Construction Services is a little more than $5.93 million.
