With the installation of “no parking” signs now in place, the recently-passed parking prohibition on Running Horse Road south of Platte City can now be enforced. The Platte County Commission approved the updated ordinance after the Platte City Special Road District had requested the ban on parking on Running Horse from Northwest 120th Street (Hwy. D) north to the city limits of Platte City. This sign is next to a right-hand turning lane on northbound Running Horse. The turning lane feeds into the Fox Creek subdivision. For the past several months, a large tow truck has been periodically parking within a rear portion of that turning lane, creating a potentially hazardous line of sight for motorists.
