Dr. Jay Harris, the new superintendent for Platte County R-3 School District, was chosen to flip the switch on the Christmas lights throughout downtown Platte City. Harris did the honors on the steps of the Platte County Courthouse at the Platte City Chamber of Commerce’s annual Holiday Lighting Celebration on Thanksgiving Eve last Wednesday night. A large crowd attended the event, which was held in pleasant weather conditions for this time of year.
