Downtown Parkville set for Christmas celebration

Santa, music, hay rides, fireworks and much more

Bring the family to downtown Parkville on Friday evening, Dec. 2 to enjoy the annual Christmas on the River celebration.
The event is held in Downtown Parkville, with free admission and free activities.

There will be local choirs, dance, and musicians. Attendees can visit and take photos with Santa Claus and holiday characters.
Enjoy hay rides through English Landing Park, hot chocolate, roasted nuts, kettle korn and more.

Other highlights include:

•Trackless Train Rides for the Kids
•Kids Crafts & Parents Lounge, hosted by River Park Church
•Cookie Decorating and Cocoa at VIP Special Event Space, 160 South Main Street, Buy Tickets
•Live music and photo ops in Pocket Park with ‘M E R R Y’ marquee and holiday characters.
•Dining, Shopping and Open Houses at all your downtown favorites
•Reindeer Food and Letters to Santa at The Farmacy on Main, 111 Main St.
•Holiday FIREWORKS Show! (approximately 8:45 p.m. along the Missouri River).

6:20 p.m.: St. Therese Major-Minor Choir
6:35 p.m.: River Park Children’s Choir
6:40 p.m.: City of Parkville Mayor Welcome
6:45 p.m.: Park Hill South Dance Team
6:50 p.m.: PHSD Graden Elementary Choir
7:20 p.m.: Priscilla & Dana’s School of Dance
7:35 p.m.: Northland Community Choir
7:50 p.m.: Pride Martial Arts Exhibition
8:10 p.m.: Jillian Riscoe
8:45 p.m.: FIREWORKS SHOW

Parking
Public parking in and around downtown Parkville:
4th Street & 9 Hwy Parking Lot
6th Street & 9 Hwy Parking Lot
Handicap parking is available in marked spots on Main Street (south of the railroad tracks) and also in the parking lot at the entrance to English Landing Park.

Free Shuttle Service
6-10 p.m.: YMCA Platte County Community Center South, 8875 Clark Ave, Parkville.
– Park University, 6th Street Parking Lot.
Note: Due to the fireworks and safety reasons, the boat ramp and Platte Landing Park will be closed to the public on Friday, Dec. 2, starting at noon and will reopen Saturday, Dec. 3.
