Homecoming queen candidates have been chosen at West Platte R-2 High School in Weston. The candidates are Megan Siler, Robin Moppin, Jenni Moppin, Stacey Benner, Lauren Gebhardt and Keri Jacks. The queen will be crowned during halftime of the football game this Friday night.


Air National Guard Airman Cameron C. Riecker has graduated from Air Force basic training. During the six weeks of training the airman studied Air Force mission, organization and customs and received special training in human relations. He is the son of Brenda Riecker of Platte City. The airman is a 1990 graduate of North Platte High School.

Platte City residents Hollis and Bob Fullerton attended Northwest Missouri State University’s annual “Family Day” festivities. Hundreds of parents were campus visitors and participants in a series of activities designed to better acquaint the families of Northwest students with opportunities and programs at the university.


The Platte City school’s Parent-Teacher Association was one of the groups that marched in the Main Street parade Saturday afternoon as part of the 1992 celebration of Zed Martin Founder’s Day. Although it rained in the morning, the weather was ideal by parade time.
