Police say a juvenile victim sought treatment at a hospital after an alleged assault by another juvenile near Park Hill High School Friday night, Sept. 23.
Kansas City police were called to Park Hill High School about 7:45 p.m. during Friday night’s high school football game in regard to a disturbance. At the same time, officers were dispatched to a hospital in regard to a victim who showed up at the hospital suffering from apparent injuries reported from an assault.
Donna Drake, a public information officer for the Kansas City Police Department, told The Landmark on Tuesday that the victim was initially listed in critical condition but has since been released from the hospital.
Drake said investigation revealed the reported assault took place at a nearby park located in the 8200 block of N. Congress Ave., not at the school.
Law enforcement sources described the assault as an alleged stabbing.
