Platte Democratic headquarters to open Saturday

Platte County Democratic Central Committee, along with Democratic candidates for county and state office, will have an opening ceremony at their campaign headquarters located at 7124 NW Prairie View Road, Kansas City, on Saturday, Aug. 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The headquarters is located not far from I-29 and 72nd Street in the Platte Woods area.

The public is invited to meet candidates, learn how to get involved before November, sign up to volunteer, and support your local Democratic Party.

Several candidates will be kicking off their weekly volunteer canvass from the event if you’d like to knock on some doors afterward. All training will be provided.

Temporary office hours for September will be 2-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and 1-3 p.m. on Sundays.

Platte Democratic Central Committee meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m.

Platte County Federated Women’s Democratic Club meets on the second Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Both groups will meet at the headquarters in September and October.
