Promising 29-degree beers and friendly service, a restaurant known as Twin Peaks appears to be getting closer to opening in Platte County.

“Apply now” banners are posted at the future home of Twin Peaks, which is in the Shops at Boardwalk retail area off of Barry Road. Twin Peaks has indicated a “summer” opening is planned.

The Texas-based restaurant chain has plans to open in the former Houlihan’s space at 8660 N. Boardwalk Avenue, Kansas City in Platte County, not far from the Walmart and Lowe’s on Boardwalk.

The Landmark this week reached out to corporate offices for Twin Peaks in regard to a more specific planned opening date but no further information had been received as of deadline.

According to its website, Twin Peaks is known for 29-degree beer on tap, has a mountain lodge theme, and “friendly and attractive Twin Peaks Girls surrounded by scenic views and the latest in high-definition TVs.”

The Twin Peaks menu includes made-from-scratch items such as chicken wings, soups and salads, sandwiches, tacos, smoked chicken, chargrilled salmon, chicken fried steak or chicken, steak and pot roast.

Twin Peaks is headquartered in Addison, Tex. but the restaurant was founded in Lewisville, Tex., a suburb of Dallas, in 2008.

The restaurant has more than 80 locations in 25 states across America.

Existing area locations for Twin Peaks include Independence and Olathe.

Houlihan’s opened in the Shops at Boardwalk in 2005. It closed its doors in August of 2018.
