For the 2022-23 school year
The Park Hill School Board recently approved amendments to the salary schedules for all employee groups. Instead of getting the planned 3.5% average increase for the 2022-2023 school year, employee groups will get a 5.25% average increase. Support staff will make a minimum of $15 per hour, and the district says it will particularly target difficult-to-fill positions like school-age child care staff and teacher assistants.
In a news release last week, the Park Hill School District said it “can respond to this competitive hiring market thanks in part to voters who recently passed our no-tax-increase ballot propositions. As we shared in the months leading up to the April election, Proposition N was partially intended to keep staff salaries competitive.”
“We so appreciate the board’s support of our teachers and staff, especially during these difficult times,” Superintendent Dr. Jeanette Cowherd said. “People are leaving the profession, and to keep Park Hill strong, we need to be able to retain and recruit the kind of excellent employees we are used to having here in our district.”
District officials said in the coming weeks the district will determine specific amounts for each employee group, and will provide updated contracts to teachers and other contracted staff members.
