45 Years Ago–Feb. 11, 1977

Rev. and Mrs. Marvin Fisher are parents of a son, born Jan. 28, 1977 at Spelman Hospital. Mr. Fisher is the assistant pastor at Second Creek Church.


Lt. Al Lubker was named superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol by Gov. Joseph P. Teasdale on Feb. 3. Lubker will hold the rank of colonel and be the commanding officer of the state law enforcement agency. Lubker replaces Col. Sam S. Smith, who retired last month.


Miss Pauline Alton just returned from South America with a traveling group. Among their tours was Salvador and the earthquake ruins of Guatamala.


Mrs. Cora Whitters left last Friday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Paul Whitters and family at Middletown, Ohio.


Mr. and Mrs. Ed Jackson celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary Saturday by having supper at the Farris restaurant and later attended the wrestling matches in St. Joseph.


On Feb. 16 Executor Manor, Leavenworth, Inc. and Crown Cinema Corporation will open the Landing Four Theatres located at Third and Delaware across from the Ramada Inn.
