Landmark Live SciFi Movie Trivia Challenge

greetings earthlings welcome in to the science fiction episode of landmark live i’m ivan foley this is chris campbell we’ve got some fun and games and we’ve got some money for charity tonight because it’s a little trivia challenge some movie trivia challenge this all started when these guys found out when techman schneider and chris found out that i don’t watch science fiction or marvel movies or uh fantasy films like chris and techman schneider so they’ve kind of been making fun of me ever since so tech man schneider developed this idea why don’t we do a show about it and kind of embarrass ivan so we’re here tonight to embarrass my lack of knowledge i think that’s great um you had me at embarrass myself because i do that every landmark live yes um i’m excited now you you’re not a famously you’re not a science fiction movie the last science fiction show you said you watched ant-man i did watch ant-man because the green rod yeah the grandkids watched it one night so i thought well i’ll just tune in and uh okay pretend like i’m coming was the one before that the original star wars i never have watched the original star wars well that’s all the time we’ve got tonight so um we’re gonna just uh let’s just move on move it along now tech man schneider has developed he’s got several movie clips uh i don’t know how many did he say 50 or 15. yes okay we may be here a while it’s going to be a long night we may be here a while so what the rules will kind of make up as we go i think but yeah basically we’ve got a lot of cash you’ve got a lot of i did bring a lot of cash and uh this is for trivia not for anything else so anytime i miss uh on my answer i gotta throw five bucks in the bucket and you can’t see the bucket i don’t think it’s buckets down here yeah there is a bucket though and there is a bucket and every time i miss i gotta throw five bucks in and and chris at some points gotta throw five bucks up make it rain what we’re gonna do make it rocket rain like like pac-man jones over there all right see you know stuff it’s just not science i don’t know if pac-man now do you know of the you know what pac-man the other pac-man oh yeah the video game pac-man okay yeah and i there was one video game that was kind of science fiction either i used to play all the time galaga i think was the name of it galaga was yeah did you play that video game yeah yeah yeah that was that was that was my favorite i got it we got that yeah okay perfect i love it awesome so so we’ll get right into it because you guys don’t want to be bored tonight so uh schneider whenever you’ve got some movie clips ready to rock and roll and now i don’t know the rules so i guess if i know an answer here we go here we go seven minutes think about it you walk into a video store you see eight minute abs sitting there there’s seven minute abs right beside it which one are you gonna pick man and we guarantee just to get a workout is the eight minute folfo you guarantee it that’s how do you do that if you’re not happy with the first seven minutes we’re going to send you the extra minute a minute free see that’s it that’s our motto that’s where we’re coming from that’s from a to b okay i recognize the action no robots in there that was ben stiller and ben stiller and uh scene the guy that was with him was also in dumb and dumber he was the cop and dumb and dumber right am i right i wasn’t dumb and dumber no no no so i know dumb and dumb are backwards and forward uh okay this is a sci-fi movie with ben stiller is this a sci-fi movie or is this just a test it’s a warm up oh so it might not be a sci-fi movie when harry met sally picked an easier one uh seven minute abs that’s a that’s a famous little bit out of we should know this one yeah you mean you don’t know it either i don’t think i know it i do not know it i i gotta i gotta donate well hang on let’s let’s think of ben stiller movies let’s just rattle him off maybe we get lucky uh zoolander i don’t think it’s zoolander because he’s like all dolled up in that one yeah what was the other one we were talking well he was in meet the parents meet the meet the [ __ ] the [ __ ] uh he was in something about the one with brett favre yeah something about something about mary is that it ta-da we got it right we don’t have a bell or anything we don’t have a we don’t have a whistle a train horn well it’s a train horn so that was something about barry yeah something about mary all right all right we got it we got there we just made five bucks buddy nice job schneider has to pay us i think how they work i love it that’s pretty good all right all right well it took some teamwork but we nailed that one oh i love see we’re gonna we’re gonna work together today because i think we’re gonna walk out of here with all our money all right i hope so let’s do it yeah there we go number two two of which obviously yeah this is famous all right hey all right good job guys guys let’s just not come in tomorrow morning tomorrow another guy on the right side big green guy you ever tried there’s a shawarma joint about two blocks from here i don’t know what it it’s is you know who the big green guy is the big green monster uh we were talking about we were talking before the show iron man old old friday shows you remember bruce banner oh yeah the incredible hole well this isn’t that okay but the incredible hulk is in this okay hulk yeah hulk i’m trying to get a uh uh it does start with well no it doesn’t start with anything uh also wrong but good try yeah i mean i i i could i could i appreciate the studio audience this one was from the first avengers um which was like movie six in the mcu out of like 25 there were like then like 25 mcu movies but the avengers what’s mcu mcu stands for the marvel co uh cosmic universe okay so like so you write a comic book right and it’s about iron man and then you write a comic book about uh captain america then you write a comic book about the incredible hulk well the mcu allows the the incredible hulk and iron man and captain america all to be in the same universe oh wow so all these 26 movies that have come out over the last 10 years have all been in the same mcu this is deep man and then there’s the dceu which we won’t go into we may go into that later that’s the superman and batman and all that stuff so all right so avengers won all right so i what did i put money in there no i gotta put money in here i got it donation donation to the cause uh a charity uh that we’ll explain later five bucks in the charity booth five bucks yeah all right listen to that drum beat that should give you that’s not gonna help again though this is also this is also another good uh 80s 70s 80s friday night this is the remake of that it’s really good here i think what do you got this is i think this is battlefield galactica nice job was that sci-fi from the 70s that was giving away that just looked it looked like yeah that was like a bad start going my man i mean that’s that scene way to go that was from the remake that came out in the 2000s but yeah that’s a very good show that was the now funny story yes the man who wrote that ron ronald d moore was a longtime star trek writer okay um maybe it’s not an interesting story because that was the entire story probably not but it was he didn’t get to write the type of gritty stories he wanted on star trek because it was too clean and so he made remade that’s cool you know the clip i can’t wait for is the one that schneider said is three minutes long because it’s just so freaking i think we’re going to be so ready to be ready for that that one was that was that the three minute that one felt like that one all right hey you saved five bucks you’re one you’re now don’t you have to put money in if i am i think how does this work i don’t know and it’s fine okay put five bucks in there we go you got it all right i love this already this is what could possibly that looks like who does that look like um that looks like the the guy looks like that’s not richard here that looks like you take it if i said message in a bottle who sang message in a bottle uh the police the police who was the front front lead singer the sting wasn’t the same thing yeah that was sting was it um i what was stinging i don’t know famously that was police was that dune holy crap it’s dune i got it all right i don’t think i watched that movie because i think cause sting was in it schneider’s pulling out movies they’re coming out with a new one and people are really excited about it but i’m not i’m not that’s uh oh uh the wife says manana manana poor favor oh i gotta put money in because uh you gotta buck up oh oh well you got sting right well yeah i did yeah he’s fine he’s good okay keep your five dollars i think we’re gonna it’s all gonna end up in the bucket i think it’s okay yeah all right uh number 10 there you ass line of any movie anywhere where where carrie fisher says to says to him i i love you that’s how i knew it was star wars that’s sure that’s like twitter one on 101. you know i mean when somebody tells you they love you all you have to do is just break that up play that gift all right you’re doing pretty good you’re betting about 500. yeah i did all right you’re doing great i got lucky you’re doing great all right what do we got is this a nine nine-minute one all right you probably do you have you even have hbo no i know this may be problematic then this may be a problem although this one this is one that you couldn’t go five minutes without somebody talking about it a few years back well just by that and yeah i’ve got to guess is it the game of thrones sure okay it’s a game of thrones walker and that’s uh that’s what’s but this is the oh this is a spoiler scene well if you haven’t seen game of thrones don’t stop watching because this is this is the end of the second to the last season and then arya comes in watch this badass move here oh wait watch this watch this watch this she’s gonna go drop it oh you have already gotten more of these than i than i than the over under i think the overall is that it too yeah game of thrones well done nice job well you know the hint did it for me that was a show when i was trying to watch football and getting on on twitter everybody was talking about game of thrones because it was on sunday nights see i learned about it from reading your twitter right and then i had to go watch it and then you get hooked into it the same same with like breaking bad and all those other shows never watched you’re doing good i read i read about it on your twitter and if you hadn’t said hbo and blah blah blah you know i wouldn’t know yeah i’m here for you i’m here you know listen your financial security is my financial security well yeah so i gotta pay your that’s right humongous dollars yeah that’s uh i need a raise to talk to you about that double your salary tonight um see um i don’t know i can’t even get a hint from the studio audience i may uh i may end up paying on this one because i’m not sure which one it is i don’t know what series it is well i’m going to pass i’m going to pass tv because i have no idea so that was that was it’s in the harry potter series that was voldemort that he was fighting um i’m gonna say that was around two or three uh sorcerer’s apprentice was the first one uh harry potter and the lucky charms is what i’m going to say the the the real thing i think i’m out five bucks which harry potter was it order the phoenix yeah because there was a phoenix at the end no i should have gotten that amazing books they were great books no i read all the books too uh but i just i didn’t there are some harry potter people oh yeah yeah they put they put star trek people to shame the harry potter people yeah now none of them are like dating or anything but they do you sure that’s right so um what are the the gatherings that they have sometimes something con the comic cons comic cons yeah comic-con yeah i’ve walked by a couple of them we need to we need to go to planet comic-con next year you and i need to dress up do a landmark live from the la mark live i think is what we need to do and well that would be interesting i mean we’re gonna we’ll we’ll prep you should get you some notes probably go straight i’ll prep you before we do anything uh crazy out there but that was good all right so i i mean there’s just as much of my money in there as your money yeah because i i i’m still short but i gotta throw another one we’re set so okay let’s go rock and roll i don’t recognize this cooper there’s no point using endurance rotation is 67 68 rpm yeah get ready to match our spin with the retro thrusters it’s not possible no it’s necessary she’s got nothing cooper this is no time for caution if i blackout you take the sticks you’re ready to engage the docking mechanism oh you know yeah i heard about that i didn’t watch it i didn’t like it and i don’t like his move before this is this the three minute one is this the epic is this the epic scene or do they just dock the name oh this is all this is the epic oh we got to watch this is this interstellar is that what this movie is it’s interstellar i haven’t seen it i know this one’s why i hate maddie he’s got hair which is even weirder it’s i you know why i don’t think that i saw it because it came out at the same time as gravity did and i think i just saw crap a lot of okay i will you know what schneider i will go watch interstellar it also has who’s the girl anne hathaway oh anne hathaway matt damon who was in another space movie the martian that’s why i didn’t see that one because i saw the martian and gravity and they all came out at the same time okay well i only i had no clue so i’m donating well i was i stabbed it in the dark so good job all right that does look like a good movie though yeah let’s uh let’s rent that one now that they at the blockbuster at the at the platte county when i’m not home i don’t think we’re really passing you along to moving you out to uh oh this isn’t a science fiction movie this is a comic book movie though you’ll get this one and i thought my jokes were bad give me one reason to pull your head off your head how about that that’s the joker yeah that’s the joker i’m gonna make this almost make this pencil disappear oh okay i got a little help on that one all right who you got dark knight the dark knight absolutely that was was that heath ledger that was heath that was a that was the movie that made heath ledrick go crazy yeah yeah playing the joker yeah rest in peace how about i’m just proud of myself i knew the joker you’re doing great you’re doing a lot better than i thought okay i you know you’re doing great you’re patronizing no this is what i was telling you earlier it’s it’s these things just kind of seep into you’re on twitter well i read your twitter yeah that’s yeah so i’ve i’ve de-facto educated you exactly all right i got it you’re my source for nerdy material so well i’ve only gotten one wrong so far so yeah that seems fair all right let’s go to clip number 47. what can i do for you for you uh well sir this rug i have it really tied the room together together uh you told brad on the phone he told me where do i finish i fit in well they were they were looking for you these two guys uh you know it again again you told brandt on the phone he told me told me i know what happened yes yes yes well captain i have no idea no you do though i do you do you absolutely do no this is not a science fiction this is not a comic book movie i have no idea that that’s guy’s the dude you know who the dude is right not i know schneider made reference to the dude in one of his write-ups that he does for a lamborghini i’m like who the hell is he talking about i have no idea it’s got john goodman in it so funny story up until two years ago i hadn’t seen this movie because again i my best friend tells me to watch movies and they’re terrible yeah he told me to watch zoolander zoolander was terrible he told me to watch something but this is the big lebowski okay this is a movie that you you do need to watch yeah schneider said yeah this is the comment that you need to watch but i’m with you i had not watched it for a long time okay well it’s actually a good comedy at our next landmark party we’re watching the big leagues at the christmas party we’re going to put that up on the screen and just everybody you’re watching landmark live and we are playing movie trivia for charity and the charity is getting rich by now i’ve got to put another five bucks in for every missed answer and uh i am uh i am getting reno shy on the cash but anyway we’re rolling along chris campbell is really good at this stuff because uh he’s kind of a movie nerd actually and uh i am a nerd i’m more of a comedy fan but uh we’ll see whenever schneider’s ready he’ll roll another clip somebody help me out all right a couple of ones i like the music i’m gonna have to pass that one to you chris okay so at the end it looked like tron uniforms but i don’t think it was tron because tron was a very weird uh movie is this ready player one wow way to go chris campbell or nailed it yeah i’m gonna throw a five engine i’m impressed it’s not a good book that was a kid’s book but that’s a that’s a good book that’s that’s oh wow yeah feeling feeling jazzed about that one i was that was oh man that one i feel better about it than interstellar that was a good book and a good movie too i really enjoyed that they’re probably going to screw it up with the sequel but this is uh i’m living i’m living through revenge of the nerds or something tonight you guys but just here with chris now now that’s a movie i would let’s just go let’s just screw this off and let’s just go watch that movie because that man right now that is a funny you got uh uh seinfeld on the violin no poindexter on the violin yeah and you know oh yeah that’s great movie good good film been a long time since i’ve seen it but yeah we should we should definitely hit that one up i like it all right schneider the minute we move in there they’re gonna spot us on the radar radar about to be mel brooks if mel brooks made this oh spaceball there you go baseball there you go yeah this is this is uh in yeah i don’t think i’ve ever watched the whole thing but you don’t need to now if you like airplane though yeah i do listen this is the airplane of star wars oh famous mel brooks was in the news this week would you hear that no i did not he’s still alive he’s 95 years old netflix announced that they’re going to make so do you remember the movie history of the world part one no another another great mel brooks movie okay they’re gonna make a history of the world part two history of the world part one the part one was just a joke right hell of a funny movie it’s it’s a it’s it’s a lot like monty python oh they’re gonna make a part two oh it’s awesome it’s gonna be a series so we got two left we have two clips left you guys i think i gotta do i have to pay on that one or i don’t know what i don’t know so spaceballs what a good movie watch out for his fingers they make sparks okay let’s get ready here he comes well ladies and he’s i give you incredible oh uh i don’t know but i know why you and schneider like these kind of movies first of all you guys need vaccinated or something i don’t know we need vaccinated from there but this is like we need to get our scu shot this is like uh it’s it’s all the the technology that’s involved in these in the making of these movies i think that’s why you two nerds like it so much that’s fair because yeah it’s it’s all cgi like eighty percent of these movies is cgi so i can i can so that’s that’s you’re a gritty you’re a new yeah i’m a you’re known for your grit and so i can understand why you just want it all yeah all natural you know i can’t go fake news all the time no i can’t go fake news that would ruin your reputation so i have no idea what that one was that was thor ragnarok what was it what that was thor ragnarok it was never even heard of that one the third thor movie i think and play it play it into the anyway i won’t i won’t bore you it was about movie 17 or 18 out of the 25 of which i i usually try to watch them all once a year anyway that’s it we got one more clip this went fast holy cow i’m kind of glad actually yeah i think it went longer than both of us thought it would what here we go this is for double the money oh crap oh boy you didn’t go with the 1978 version you went with the 2003 version dude the 78 version was awesome what are you talking about this movie not worth watching i’m just going to go right out and say oh yeah you’re going to lose a disney property huh yeah it’s not going to help you though no it’s not like you know this fantasia driver okay well i gotta say uh you got this is gonna shock you guys uh but i don’t know that one that was tron that was the second tron okay put the money in there double my tron that was your try i was tron yeah that was that was so disney when star wars came out in 77 disney was pissed off because they didn’t get any of that sweet sweet 20th century fox money so they came out with two properties that they tried to sell tron and then the black hole uh and then battlestar galactica famously came out and tried they were all trying to leech off of this star wars spacey type thing oh yeah they were all subpar and so later in the 2000s disney just bought all the properties and just said screw it and we’re just going to buy everything that’s cool so so sometime we should big oh jeff bridges thank you yeah yeah in the big lebowski that was the big lebowski yeah yeah he was in the he was in the original trump he was in tron too he was in both wasn’t he he was the carryover tron was about a guy that fell into a computer and so what you were seeing was that him running around on a little motherboard yeah okay it was dumb that was a dumb movie there were some good movies in there if if nothing else go see the big lebowski in this order the big lebowski spaceballs uh and i think you’re good i think that’s the list i think those are the only two movies i would recommend i would rewatch something about mary in a heart and something there you go so there’s really only one spacey thing but it makes fun of a lot of nerds like me so you don’t have to actually dip your toe into the space waters sometime you know let’s do another show where we uh we play those old comedy classics you know the ones that i like like yeah i would play yeah i’m going to be out some money for them and the naked guns naked guns are great oh man well yeah there you go schneider next month we’ll uh we’ll do the we’ll do the classic 90s comedies stupid comedies yeah stupid comedies on on the next episode of landmark movie trivia that was pretty fun that was uh that was nice i think we made a little bit of money so we did we made some money for the chair and talk about the charity we’re going to give this the charity we’re going to give this to um so i do public address work for north kansas city high school one of i do football and basketball and volleyball and baseball for them one of their football players mothers passed away a couple days ago and so they’re raising some money for a funeral and all the services and it was a very sudden passing so we’ll we’ll make sure that this gets uh gets to them bucketful cash bucket full of cash and you know what we all came out a little bit smarter we we did maybe i got a compliment schneider for putting all those clips this is amazing this this whole thing is is like out of the space shuttle it’s which is a science fiction thing we should do a show sometime where we just show the folks at home where we just sit back there yeah and we show our show the folks what our studio looks like and of course schneider’s kind of camera shy i don’t know if he’d want to be in it but he we got to show the folks the equipment and the green screen if you go to my tick tock i did a behind the scenes tick tock so yeah there you go tell tell the folks how they find you well i’m on i’m at the fake ned t-h-e-f-a-k-e-n-e-d i’m on uh facebook and twitter and tick-tock now super tick-tock famous yeah you are kind of embarrassing right now you’re the only tick-tocker i really uh care to get on there yeah i’m bringing i’m bringing you’re bringing us bringing the milkshakes to the yard is what i’m doing you really are um yeah and so yeah i think this has gotten so complicated we may not be able to recreate the drinking episode that we did because i would probably fall over i bet we can and i will break something and everything in here looks like it’s at least 500 a piece so well except maybe the duct tape that schneider’s equipment he just lets us borrow oh then to hell with it yeah and that’s fine we can tear it out people yeah this is good stuff no man that was great schneider great job that’s he spent uh he was trying to watch those and i and i just been busy this week i’m kind of glad i i didn’t i’m glad you didn’t yeah i wouldn’t have known a couple of you could watch it yeah watch it with me this worked out great i’m glad you gotta go watch interstellar now you gotta watch interstellar well hey yeah part about how we started at the landmark for the preview and we ran up to the courthouse and ran up the stairs just to get warmed up i was already done we got warmed up for the flexi body babes who by the way are still going strong they are they’re on the twitter stuff check them out on i think it’s it’s flexi or something they’re they’re all over but anyway just search body babies you’ll find
