45 Years Ago–October 17, 1975

The Platte County Pirates traveled to Weston last Friday night to play their arch rivals and returned to Platte City with a 14-0 victory over the Blue Jays. This was Platte City’s fifth consecutive shutout.


On Tuesday, Oct. 21, voters will go to the polls to cast their ballots on the $370,000 special school bond and operating levy for additional general and technical classrooms at Platte County R-3 High School.


Don Witt and Abe Shafer have moved their law offices to their new building at the corner of Fourth and Marshall Road. The new brick building adds another new professional structure to downtown Platte City.


Mrs. Elaine Walker and Mrs. Helen Gains returned home last Friday from a tour of Hawaii. They visited the four islands of Kaui, Oahu, Hawaii and Maui.


Mr. and Mrs. Dannie R. Stamper celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Oct. 10. Their daughter, Mrs. Randall Hamilton, and granddaughter, Michelle, of San Francisco, were here for the event.
