Several suspects made entrance into the Thoroughbred Ford dealership at 1901 Prairie View in Platte City about 3:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4 by breaking out glass of a main entry door. Sgt. Mike Mand said Platte City Police Department officers responded to the scene on an alarm call to find the glass door broken. Suspects had fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, but nothing appeared taken. “On video, we an see several parties run in, searching for keys and then they take off. No vehicles were taken,” Mand said. He said it appears Thoroughbred Ford has a good key control system. Police notified other local car dealers to be on alert. “We’ve heard reports of multiple cars being taken at other locations, including on Vivion Road,” Mand said.
