With 27% of elementary students enrolled in Park Hill Online, the district’s entirely virtual learning option, Park Hill School District is utilizing a virtual teaching resource to bolster the district’s teaching curriculum.
Dr. Jeannette Cowherd said the Heinemann Virtual Teaching Resource will be accessible to all K-5 students, including students in the hybrid (combination of in-person and virtual) learning mode.
“By sharing the Virtual Teaching Resources, we can create more asynchronous opportunities for elementary students, allowing teachers more time to meet with students individually or in small groups to confer about lessons and independent reading and writing,” said district officials.
Virtual teaching videos and additional features to online resources are a few of the additional support items offered with the virtual teaching resource.
Last spring, Park Hill received criticism over a lack of virtual learning resources available to teachers and parents. Many of the websites students utilized during the shutdown were littered with popup ads and often were not age- appropriate.
The district paid $41,650 for the online resource.
