Serving as the largest and most significant community park within the Riverside Park System, EH Young Riverfront Park is a 40-acre recreational destination that is anticipated to attract visitors from throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Originally constructed nearly 20 years ago, this park became known for its Riverwalk and presence along the Missouri River.

In 2018, the City of Riverside commissioned the creation of a new park master plan to be crafted through a series of community engagement events. New park amenities included in Phase 1 construction include:

.Off-leash dog park

.Platte County’s largest playground

.Eight lighted pickleball courts

.Expanded trail system (to 1.3 miles)

.Social gathering spaces

.Habitat restoration

.Natural landscape areas

.Percussion music play area

.Preservation of the bell tower

.Three-story climbing tower + zipline

The City of Riverside funded a majority of these improvements. Financial assistance was provided from the Platte County Outreach Grants for construction of the pickleball courts.

The park planning team was led by Confluence landscape architects and included Wilson & Company for engineering and Applied Ecological Services for sustainability and habitat restoration planning. Gunter Construction served as the general contractor with ABcreative supplying the play equipment and McConnell Associates constructing the pickleball courts.
