Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Todd of Platte City announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Deborah Jean, to Roger Lee Page, son of Mrs. Elsie Page and the late William D. Page of Rushville. Miss Todd is a 1974 graduate of West Platte High School She is presently employed at McCormick Distilling Company in Weston. Mr. Page is a 1973 graduate of West Platte and presently a sophomore at Missouri Western College in St. Joseph. No date has been set for the wedding.
There was a three percent increase in the number of traffic deaths in Missouri during the first quarter of this year as compared to the same period in 1974. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 164 persons lost their lives in traffic during the first three months of this year. That compares to 159 during this period last year. Rural traffic deaths increased but urban fatalities remained the same.
The kickoff show of the 1975 Pony Express Horse Show season was held Saturday at Sedalia. Winners included Barbie Boydston, sixth Western Pleasure, Camden Point; Jennifer Cutler first, 50″ Pony, Platte Woods; Priscilla Foster, first, juvenile walking horse; Norma Foster, third, amateur walking horse, Dearborn; Sheri Graham, fourth, stock seat,; Bobbie Shanks, first, pony over 50″, Camden Point.
Mr. and Mrs. John Paul Mason of Dearborn announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Barbara Jean, to Army Specialist Charles Hill of Dearborn. The wedding date has been set for Jun 7 at the Mt Zion Baptist Church of Edgerton.
