Platte County Commissioners set a public hearing date for Oct. 3 to discuss the Parkville Commons NID (Neighborhood Improvement District) project.
The project is being constructed by River North Development and will serve as a town center. Price Chopper has already confirmed its intentions to be located in the center. The store will be 66,000 square feet.
According to Jim Watson, River North Development partner, 100,000 square feet of the facility has been pre-leased prior to construction of the project.
A representative of the bonding firm of Gilmore and Bell was at the county commission meeting to inform commissioners the project is advisable.
The project is located at Hwy 9 and 45 and consists of 35 acres. Road improvements are also expected to be made at the site.
In other county news, a notice of public hearing is planned for 2 p.m. Sept. 19 for the Platte County Tax Rates for 2002. A legal notice outlining proposed budget figures can be found elsewhere in this issue of The Landmark.
