Game plan:
-The Chiefs couldnt move the ball at all on the
ground against the Raiders (35 rush yards week one) and
the Giants have a fine front seven. The Giants defense
will key on Chiefs TE Tony Gonzales, but not sure they
have anyone that can contain him. RBs Tony Richardson
or Priest Holmes must get something going and move the
chains, even if it requires short passes out of the back
field. The Chiefs must return to a ball control offense.
-The Giants have plenty of questions on the defensive
corners, but will the Chiefs receivers be able to exploit
them? Week one saw but one catch by a wideout, though
it was a biggie; A 30-yard TD leaping catch by Snoop Minnis.
WR Derrick Alexander is listed as questionable but has
stated if necessary he would rather rest his injured Achilles
now then to have the injury drag on throughout the year.
Look for Chris Thomas to get his first NFL start of his
career.
-Giants QB Kerry Collins played well during week one
at Denver, but also got little run support. Look for the
Giants to at least make an attempt at establishing the
run early, then test KCs corners at every opportunity.
-Both teams need this one as bad as any team needs a
second game as neither can afford to open 0-2.
