The murder trial for Jimmy Williams, accused in the shooting
death of his former son-in-law Thad Mize last December,
has been delayed.
Williams' trial had been set to start on Sept. 3, but
has now been pushed back to Sept. 30. A pre-trial conference,
at which any motions can be filed, is scheduled for Sept.
11.
Platte County Prosecutor Tammy Glick said the defense
attorney in the case asked for the delay, telling the
court he has been unable to properly prepare for the case
because he's suffering from a viral infection.
