help with electric
bill and fans
Due to the extreme heat, United Services Community Action
Agency has received an additional allotment of funds to
aid low-income households in assisting with electric bills
and other energy-related matters.
An eligible household can receive up to $300 to assist
them with their electric bill. To qualify, a household
must meet the low-income guidelines and either be without
electricity or have received a shut-off notice.
All clients are eligible to receive assistance on more
than one occasion during the summer months, as long as
their total does not exceed $300.
In addition, free air conditioners and fans are available
to eligible applicants that are elderly (60 or over) or
disabled. Those with medical conditions will need to document
their circumstances for assistance.
To receive services or information, contact the Platte
County United Services Outreach office at 858-5153 Monday
through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
