Point Freedom Festival set for June 29
The 10th annual Camden Point Freedom Festival is scheduled
for Saturday, June 29 at the intersection of Interurban
and E Highway.
Interurban Road from E Highway north to Woodson Addition
and 3rd Street from Interurban Road east to Scout Street
will close at 1 p.m.
Vendor setup will begin at 2 p.m.; Little Missy/Master
Registration will begin at 3 p.m.; Little Missy/Master
judging will begin at 3:30 p.m.
These will be held in the community building by the ball
park. Parade registration is from 3:45 p.m.
to 4:30 p.m. at the elementary school on Scout street.
The Missy/Master
float will begin loading at 4:45 p.m. Parade begins at
5.
The parade and Missy/Master contest winners will be announced
at 6 p.m. Music and entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m.
Irish singer, Bob Reeder, from OMalleys Pub
in Weston will perform at 8:30 p.m. Fireworks will follow
at 10 p.m. This years Grand Marshalls are Dayleen
Welch and Brent and Holly Baxley who founded the event
10 years ago.
This is the 10th anniversary of the event.
There will be food and other vendor booths, petting zoo,
as
well as carnival and games for kids.
The Missy/Master contest is sponsored by the Bank of
Weston; parade is sponsored by Platte Valley Bank; and
the carnival is sponsored by Farley State Bank.
