Hendrix
trial date is reset
The long-awaited trial of Jason Hendrix has been postponed.
Hendrix, who was a volunteer firefighter with the Edgerton-Trimble
Fire Protection District, is charged with second-degree
murder, second-degree arson and property damage for allegedly
setting a barn on fire near Edgerton on June 2, 2001.
It was on the way to that fire that volunteer firefighter
Travis Brown of the Dearborn Volunteer Fire Department
was killed when the tanker truck he was riding in overturned.
The Hendrix trial has been scheduled to begin Sept. 23
under an agreement between Patrick Peters, recently appointed
as special prosecutor, and the public defender's office.
