A two-day jury trial has been scheduled in a felony case involving child pornography.
The Platte County Prosecutor's Office charged 56-year old Ricardo D. Velasco of Marshall with a class B felony of promoting child pornography in the first degree.
According to court documents, Velasco downloaded six video files containing child pornography between June 15, 2013 and March 20, 2014. The video files were downloaded using three separate IP addresses that implicate a resident at 461 W Jackson in Marshall, where Velasco resides.
The court granted law enforcement agencies a search warrant on April 24. Evidence gathered during the discovery process will be presented before a jury on June 29.
At this time Velasco remains in the Platte County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash-only bond. The court appointed assistant public defender Daniel Radke to represent Velasco in this case.
