Rick Santorum, former senator from Pennsylvania, won the Missouri Republican presidential primary on Tuesday. He also carried Platte County in convincing fashion.
Locally, Santorum pulled 54% of the Platte County vote to 29% for former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney. Ron Paul pulled 10% in Platte County.
Voter turnout in Platte County was only 5.5%. The primary was basically a beauty pageant, as a caucus held in March will determine presidential delegates to the national convention.

Statewide, Santorum won with 55% of the vote to 25% for Romney and 12% for Paul.
