An armed robber early Tuesday morning got away with cash from the Conoco in Platte City.
The robbery occurred at about 2:05 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2 at the gas station at Running Horse Road and Hwy. 92.
According to Richard Sayles, police chief, an employee and two acquaintances were outside the store smoking when a man with a handgun approached them. The man ordered all three to enter the store and for the employee to give him the cash from the register.
After he was provided an undisclosed amount of cash, the man left the immediate area on foot and may have left the area in a gray vehicle.
The suspect is described as a white male with red hair. He was wearing a light green hooded sweatshirt and was wearing dark sunglasses at the time of the robbery.
Sayles said the police have video surveillance and will be reviewing the video to get a more complete description of the suspect.
There were no injuries reported during the robbery.
